First commission of the year

Here's my first 2019 commission delivered to a proud dad for his birthday, drawn in oil pastels from his favourite photo. His wife texted to say their daughter 'definitely recognises herself, she keeps pointing to it!'

Happy Newish Year!

I hope it’s not too late to say Happy 2019 everyone! Last year was a great start to Artlal.com. Here’s to the next transformations of cardboard and canvas.
This small portrait using oil pastel on canvas board was my last of 2018, celebrating a little but very important birthday!

It’s always a pleasure to get a ‘cardboard commission’, and I did this portrait early in the summer. It went down a treat this week as an anniversary gift so can now be shared!

6 faces

This oil painting was a good challenge with 6 faces (the dog counts!) in time for a proud grandad’s birthday. After its surprise reveal at his party, his daughter got in touch,

‘Just to let you know Dad cried when he saw the painting (in a good way!) They loved it thanks so much.’

Mission accomplished!

I had the pleasure of personally delivering this portrait to Jo, commissioned by her husband for her birthday. Her reaction? ‘The best birthday present I’ve received’ Mission accomplished!

Exhibition time

Great news!  Three of my pictures have been selected for two exhibitions at Arts Depot in North Finchley.

'Kitchen sink bath' will be displayed in the Althorp Gallery as part of Arts Depot Open 2018 from Thursday 26th July.

'Pool Chat' and 'Strawberries' will be on the Exhibition Wall as part of Arts Depot's first ever Arts and Crafts Showcase from 21st July.

All pictures will be for sale.

Spring Offer put to good use

Here's my latest portrait which went down a treat as a dad's surprise 50th birthday present.

Google tells me Spring officially ends 30th June!  That means there's still time to take advantage of the Spring offer of 25% off all commissioned portraits! If someone you know has a special occasion coming up get in touch for more details.

Birthday portraits delivered!

I was really pleased to deliver this portrait just in time for a surprise present for a client's husband's birthday.

'He absolutely loved it!  Boys too.  My youngest got really excited as he saw himself straight away.  Thank you so much.  It's so brilliant'

Sylvia in colour

Here she is in glorious technicolour!

Very happy to complete my portrait of Sylvia.  The small smudges of paint on her palette are from her own palette.
